The Grain Tower in Grain, Kent was built during the mid 1800's as a gun tower and was used up until it was decommissoned in 1956. It was built using the style of Martello Towers with various components being added on throughout the years, such as the concrete stair case and the addition of the brick structure at the back of the tower.
