£95.00Price
Lino print of a Maunsell Fort, handprinted in black caligo traditional relief ink. An unframed print either on A1 off white paper, or printed onto Lokta paper (a handmade paper that's slightly see through). Both papers are look fantastic framed in an A1 frame.
Named after the man who designed them; Guy Maunsell, Maunsell Forts were built during 1943 as armed sea defence off the coast of Kent. They were in use until being decommissioned in the late 1950s. Some forts were used for pirate radio during the 1960s. The forts were assembled on dry land to then be shipped out and sunk onto sand banks.
You're currently able to take boat trips out to view the Red Sand forts from Whitstable harbour.
