Whitstable Windmill

Lino print showing the windmill in Whitstable known as 'Black Mill'. Hand printed in white Caligo traditional relief ink onto black Lokta paper, this is an unframed print designed to fit into an A1 frame as shown with a mount of 50x75cm.

Built in 1815, the windmill was initially painted white and sailors used it as a landmark. It wasn't until 1885 that the windmill was tarred and earned the named Black Mill to create the look that we see today.
